Where, Oh Where, Can My Baby Be…?

Yesterday I mostly spent sleeping. Nothing to report except a trip to the grocery store that almost overfilled my freezer, but Newell managed to get everything inside.

Today was mostly wasted too, and then about 5:00 I realized that I hadn’t seen Elf all day. Usually, this means she is under the couch…but she isn’t today. We’ve been outside looking and calling. Even had a visit from a kitty from across the street, but my baby is missing. I am hoping she will turn up, but if not, I don’t know what I will do. And now I am not sure if she was in last night or not…

Color me worried.

 

UPDATE: I went out to check one more time and Elf came trotting over from the direction of the neighbor’s yard. She has been fed and scolded a bit. If I can catch her, she’ll get hugs. 🙂

Spent today running around paying bills and then cursing my phone…which had to be reset to factory issue at the T-Mobile store because it started acting crazy. Now I have to put it all back, which is not proving simple. But I think it quite likely I won’t re-download everything for now. Maybe as I see I need it. I only made a point of repopulating my home page. 🙂

It got me so  down, I went to the Build a Bear Workshop and got me a fox. I’ll post a picture tomorrow…if I can find my camera, which I haven’t seen since the convention, even though I took no pictures. 😦 I think (hope) it is down in my bag in a place I am not expecting it to be.

Congratulations to my Sister From Another Mother Wyndie Deaver who sold a story to Mocha Memoirs! It is a really nice story, and I can’t wait to get a copy for my Kindle. 🙂

And now,  I am down for the night. Not feeling up to great. See y’all later.

So, today was mostly that trip to Georgetown. The Jacket from Hell is starting to come together. So is the coloring book we are working on, though I had to adjust a verse of the poem today because Mother said she just couldn’t figure out how to draw it. Just goes to show that sometimes a writer’s imagination is impractical in reality…lol.

I did do one bit of cleaning today. My phone was complaining that it was getting close to the memory limit, and I went through my apps and moved a bunch to the SD card. Went from 200 something MB to .98G just by doing that. Should be good for awhile. The SD card still has 27G of space on it.

Also tracked down a poem at my parents’ house that wasn’t on my spreadsheet because it hasn’t been re-published since I was in college. Something that I must rectify someday, as it was one I really liked.

So, tomorrow I have a ton of errands, but we will see what transpires. Till then —

Today I mostly built a poetry spreadsheet. Turns out I have almost 300 poems that I have accounted for between what is unpublished, the five collections, and the lyrics. And I think there are a few more to be recorded. Now I know what has appeared where. And can be more careful about duplication in the future.

I also washed dishes and clothes today, so it wasn’t a total cleaning loss.

Have to go to Georgetown in the morning for a fitting. I can’t put it off again. And Friday is for errands. But I feel the pull of the Office Organization again. Soon…soon…

Well, I got distracted, and didn’t get nearly everything done today…though I did get my 20 poems picked and submitted for the anthology call. It took longer than I thought it would.

Didn’t help any that I got drawn into a two part Criminal Minds this afternoon that made me later to the grocery store than I originally planned.

So I was supposed to go to Georgetown tomorrow, but I postponed it to Thursday so that I could get those dishes washed!

Today was spent on catching up a lot of items that needed addressing…like turning in a con survey, and emptying my submission queue again.

I also sent off two poems for the Mars: The Next Frontier poetry contest…fingers crossed I am enough on topic on that one.

So now I am down to getting my submission packet ready for the poetry anthology I’ve been invited to. That will be tomorrow’s project. Along with dishes and a trip to the grocery store.

Remember my little garden patch at the end of the driveway? Well, some of the plants aren’t doing so great in this heat…

But look at my lantana!

I’m Workin’ For a Livin’…

Yeah, I missed a couple of days…

This con has been good to me, but I’ve been working hard! By the time I’ve gotten home at night, I just couldn’t post…this is the first time I’ve had a little downtime during the day to check in.

Not that I’ve had that much programming, though I did get added to the poetry round table, which was fun.

I’ve been handed several anthology call sheets and such too this weekend, so I have new deadlines to hit as well…

And I got the news yesterday that I sold my Jack the Ripper story to Mocha Memoirs for their Halloween series. So…every little bit helps. 😉

Sorta got my glasses. They said one of the lenses has a problem and weren’t going to give them to me, but I begged so I didn’t have to wear the broken ones this weekend. I’ll have to take them back later to get the lens replaced, but they are under warranty.

Like I said last night, I spent most of today working on my Cafe Press storefront. Pleased with the results so far. Check it out: White Rose Ink. I’ll be growing it gradually. Probably closing all my other stores to consolidate focus. But not sure yet.

Laundry going right now for the weekend. Starting to get psyched up about it. 🙂

Still no new glasses…hopefully tomorrow so the headaches stop.

Did almost nothing but watch The Mentalist today. Though I did go and get Newell’s contacts for him.

And I got inspired this evening to go and revisit my CafePress stores. I think I will be consolidating and expanding them in the next few days. If I can get some outside income streams going…that would be an awesome thing. I have two main storefronts at the moment, RieDesigns, and WhiteRoseInk which was going to be a joint venture with my friend Mel White, but we haven’t ever gotten it fully populated. My friend Penny has some lovely things in her store, and I want to expand my offerings.

Between working on that and getting ready for ArmadilloCon this weekend, there will probably be little housework the rest of the week either. But I am having fun.
